Wesley's Bibliography

This bibliography is of the books that I have found useful in gaming and writing in Glorantha.

A small collection of myths and folk tales from the Celts.

Gies, Frances and Joseph. Life in a Medieval Village. New York: HarperPerennial, 1991.

This book discusses life, ecomony and government in the pre-industrial country village.

Griffith, Paddy. The Viking Art of War. Mechanicsburg: Greenhill Books, 1998.

Mr. Griffiths discusses the Norse way of fighting drawing on the Sagas for their view into this world. Including discussions on stead-burning, feuding and military strengths.

Laxdaela Saga. Toronto: Penguin Books, 1969.

One of the Icelandic Sagas covering several generations of clansmen in the Lax river valley. A good source for Orlanthi clan adventures including feud, raid and legal wrangling.

Njarl's Saga. Hertfordshire: Wordsworth Editions Ltd, 1998.

Another of the Icelandic Sagas.

Oats, Joan. Babylon, Revised Edition. 1986. London: Thames and Hudson, 1994.

A fascinating description the rise and fall of ancient Babylon. The book discusses their legal system, religion, culture and history. Useful in picturing Dara Happan culture.

Sawyer, Peter ed. The Oxford Illustrated History of the Vikings. New York: Oxford University Press, 1997.

A good book that covers the history and culture of the Vikings. Useful for modeling Orlanthi.
